Group Ride Guidelines...
1. Nobody gets left behind.

2. If the group arrives at an intersection without an obvious 'straight on' option then the group waits for every one to catch up so they can see which path to take.

3. Every body to check that the person directly behind them can see which direction they are going in, either by staying close enough to be in sight or by waiting.

4. If at the start of the ride there are more people than can easily ride as a group (say 7 or 8 ) then we will decide before we start, to split the ride into groups, usually by ability.

5. Slow groups go first, giving people who start in the fast group and realise they can't keep up, the opportunity to go with the slow group when they catch them.

6. If a rider has a problem that means they can't continue the ride, the group must ensure that that person has the means to get home safely. If this is due to an accident then someone must escort them back to ensure they are OK.

7. If a rider wishes to leave the group ride early they must let someone in the group know, so that they don't waste time waiting or searching for them.

8. The group rides at an overall pace of the slowest rider and if the rest of the group have been waiting for the slowest to catch up they must also allow some time for that rider to catch their breath, not just set off immediately.

9. Nobody gets left behind.

10. All riders must wear a helmet.

11. Riders under 16 may only join a ride advertised on this forum if they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE PLEASE NOTE...

Rides organised through this forum ARE NOT, REPEAT NOT TROG sanctioned or supported rides. This forum is merely a conduit through which like minded friends arrange to informally meet and ride together.

TROG does not and cannot accept any liability for any ride so arranged.

Riders taking part in any such ride should be aware that TROG does not in any way indemnify them either against injury or loss to themselves or to any third party.

Riders who wish to cover themselves for injury or any other form of loss should take steps to investigate insurance cover on a personal basis. TROG would strongly recommend that individuals taking part in MTB riding do this.

Please be aware that mountain biking is an inherently dangerous activity, and that any decision to partake is a personal one and in so doing you are taking personal responsibility for the risks involved.

Do not assume because others do things that they are safe for you to do. Everything you do will be your decision based on your own choices. Experienced riders will generally advise you if asked, however a good policy to adopt is "If in doubt leave it out!!"
